Red Cap Marine & Salvage has 25 years' experience on Lake Champlain with moorings, inspections, rescue & towing, boat/vehicle salvage, search/recovery & SCUBA.

Our clients include homeowners, marinas & municipal water systems around South Hero, Grand Isle, Colchester, Burlington, Shelburne, Milton, Georgia Shore, St. Albans & other surrounding VT & NY towns.

We work with Point Bay Marina, Lighthouse Point Marina, Hazelett Marina, Keelers Bay Marina, North Hero Marina, Burlington Harbor Marina, Champlain Water District, Ampersand Hydro, VT State (ANR/DEC/Parks), US Coast Guard, Local Motion, & Burlington Parks Rec & Waterfront.

Red Cap specializes in boat moorings using concrete mooring blocks or mushroom anchors. We mainly install the Hazelett Elastic Mooring system. We also install chain & chain/rope hybrid moorings.

We design our moorings to well-established safety standards based on mooring location, boat size & mooring depth, which prevents shock loading & failure in storms.

If your mooring is a single length of 3/8" chain, or shorter than 2-1/2 times the depth, or hasn't been inspected within the last 5 years, definitely give us a call.

Red Cap Marine has 110,000 lbs of lift bag capacity & has salvaged over 120 sailboats & powerboats from Lake Champlain & Lake Memphremagog, as well as local rivers.

We have also salvaged vehicles, UTVs/ATVs & snowmobiles that sunk through the ice.

We work with the Vermont ANR Department of Environmental Conservation & have fuel/oil spill & pollution control measures.

We provide emergency towing & often work directly with insurance companies, tow franchises (i.e. BoatUS), & the Coast Guard.
